Mumbai-based drone company, ideaForge Technology, launched its new mapping UAV, the Q6V2 GEO, at PRAGYA 2025, its first customer event. The drone, designed for geospatial intelligence, was unveiled to industries, government bodies and researchers worldwide.

The company says the Q6V2 GEO can map varied terrains, from glaciers to urban corridors, offering survey-grade accuracy and more than 50 minutes of flight with LiDAR payloads. Weighing under 7 kg, it supports modular payloads including photogrammetry, LiDAR, oblique imaging, hyperspectral sensing and thermal detection.

“At ideaForge, our goal is to empower organisations and decision makers to see, understand, and act on their world like never before, completing the geospatial mapping picture with a platform that delivers high performance and unlocks missions once thought impossible,” said Ankit Mehta, CEO of ideaForge.

Applications in Industries and Research

The company said the UAV, integrated with its new geospatial tech stack, can support urban planning, mining, forestry, agriculture and disaster response.

Examples include mapping Himalayan glaciers to prevent avalanches, archiving Konkan petroglyphs and large-scale mapping in Varanasi for municipal planning. The drone links with Flyght Cloud, the company’s secure cloud platform that converts aerial data into decision-ready insights.

At PRAGYA 2025, ideaForge also released a whitepaper on drone applications across industries. The company showcased its mission-ready payloads and software tools, including BlueFire Touch and Airborne Data Relay, which improve communication, terrain mapping and data collection.

With this launch, ideaForge said it is positioning the Q6V2 GEO and its tech stack as next-generation aerial mapping solutions for global customers.

The company recently received a ₹137 crore emergency procurement order from the Indian Army for its hybrid Mini unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The order addressed urgent operational requirements to be executed over the next 12 months, starting from June.

It has previously noted that its UAVs are substantially indigenous in design and capability, aligning with defence procurement norms and self-reliance objectives.
