Qatar Airways, Accenture Launch ‘AI Skyways’ to Transform Aviation Operations
Qatar Airways partnered with Accenture to launch ‘AI Skyways’, an initiative aimed at using AI to improve customer experience, streamline operations, train employees, and support environmental goals. The program will also explore ways to apply these solutions across the aviation industry.
The partnership will emphasise responsible AI practices, develop platforms for data-driven decision-making, and establish a “value realisation office” to assess the impact of AI projects. These efforts will target areas like optimising flight schedules, predictive maintenance, and personalising customer interactions, aiming to provide the airline with more seamless travel experiences.
“AI Skyways will leverage AI to reimagine a spectrum of operations—from customer service to operations, to ensure that passengers enjoy a seamless and enriching travel experience,” Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said. “Furthermore, the partnership will focus on using AI for real-time data analysis to improve decision-making capabilities and operational responses.”
The airline says AI Skyways will also help it remain resilient to changing market conditions by exploring future trends in AI. Qatar Airways plans to apply strict ethical guidelines, strong data privacy measures, and ongoing monitoring to ensure the responsible use of AI.
“Together, Qatar Airways and Accenture are applying innovative technologies and new ways of working to create new value for the airline and its customers,” Accenture chair and CEO Julie Sweet said.
Qatar Airways also mentioned that the new program is part of its shift to becoming a fully digital-first airline, with AI at the core of decision-making and operational strategy.
