Infosys, Telstra Forge Joint Venture to Boost AI-Driven Cloud Solutions in Australia
Infosys has announced a joint venture with Telstra, an Australian telecommunications and technology company, to propel AI-enabled cloud and digital solutions for Australian businesses.
As part of the deal, Infosys would acquire 75% of the shareholding in Versent Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra Group, that delivers cloud and digital transformation.
The tech giant would have operational control, while Telstra would continue to retain a 25% minority stake in Versent Group.
The transaction is expected to close during the second half of FY 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, the company said.
Versent Group, with a team of 650 engineers, advisors, and strategists, provides Australian enterprises with the design and implementation of cloud strategies, working with industry-leading partners to deliver digital transformation backed by deep industry expertise.
Infosys said that VG would strengthen Infosys’ local presence, adding that it (VG) primarily serves large blue-chip organisations with established presence in government & education, financial institutions, energy, and the utilities sector.
This strategic collaboration will see Versent Group’s cloud and digital transformation expertise boosted by Infosys’ advanced AI capabilities, Cloud, Data and Digital consulting services, the company shared.
The collaboration will leverage Infosys Topaz and cloud offering Infosys Cobalt, as well as the cybersecurity capabilities of The Missing Link, it added.
In 2024, Infosys announced a strategic multi-year collaboration with Telstra to accelerate its software engineering and IT transformation journey and enhance customer experience.
Further, in 2025, Infosys announced a collaboration with Telstra International to advance technology leadership, drive innovation and support Telstra’s new Connected Future 30 strategy.
Oliver Camplin-Warner, group executive for Telstra Enterprise, stated that combining the strengths of their three businesses aims to promote growth and innovation for Australian enterprises in the evolving AI-driven digital landscape.
“Excited to bring Infosys Topaz to enable transformative AI-first capabilities to complement Versent Group’s cloud-first digital foundation,” Salil Parekh, chief executive officer, Infosys, said. “Expanding our trusted collaboration with Telstra, with whom we share a valued relationship, unveils a new opportunity further to accelerate the innovation agenda for enterprises across the region.”
