A Vibe-Coded App Made $3 Million in 48 Hours, Says Lovable CEO
An application built using Lovable, a platform that enables developers to create apps with AI, has earned $3 million in just 48 hours, said Anton Osika, CEO of Lovable, in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.
Qconcursos, one of Brazil’s most prominent educational tech companies, used Lovable to build a premium version of its educational platform in two weeks, said Osika. He added that the platform comprises 500,000 paying users.
Brenton Anderson, who handles community engagement at Lovable, said Qconcursos launched the new platform in just a month’s time using only two of its developers, something “which would have otherwise taken nearly the whole team of 30”.
In addition to the enhanced education plan, the company also released a new product, which hosts a database of 4 million questions and answers. The platform lets students upload pictures of problems to get AI assistance. It has onboarded 7,000 users this week.
“This doesn’t mean a reduction in resources required; it means an increased capacity to ship more products and achieve greater results for Brazil’s education system,” added Anderson.
Caio Moretti, CEO of Qconcursos, said that the platform’s website has 6.2 million unique visitors per month. In response to another comment on LinkedIn that raised security concerns, Moretti said that Lovable is integrated with the company’s GitHub repository and includes security checks as part of the pipeline.
Recently, several platforms have emerged that let developers create apps and programs using natural language prompts, with AI generating the code. Andrej Karpathy, a former OpenAI researcher, has named this trend ‘vibe coding’.
On Monday, Bloomberg reported that Lovable has held discussions to raise at least $100 million at a valuation of $1.5 billion. Last month, Osika said that the platform has crossed $50 million in annual recurring revenue. The company has 130,000 paying customers, charging $25 for a pro subscription, and upwards for enterprise customers.
