Infosys Reveals AI Features for Australian Open 2025
Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting, has launched a suite of AI-driven features for the Australian Open (AO) 2025 in partnership with Tennis Australia. As per the company’s press release, this marks a major milestone in their seven-year collaboration, which aims to enhance the tennis experience through technology.
At the core of these innovations is Infosys Topaz, an AI-first suite of offerings using generative AI technologies. The new features are designed to improve fan engagement, empower players and coaches, and expand the digital interactivity of tennis.
Key Highlights of AI Innovations at AO 2025
Infosys has introduced several AI-driven innovations for Australian Open (AO) 2025 to enhance fan experiences and support players and coaches. One highlight is Beyond Tennis, the world’s first generative AI-powered tennis league, where fans can interact with 16 virtual players, train teams, and compete in AI-generated tournaments.
“Each year at the Australian Open, we have pushed the boundaries of technology to fuel fan engagement and player performance,” said Andrew Groth, executive vice president of Asia Pacific at Infosys. “We’re proud to bring generative AI innovations to the court, from the fan-driven Beyond Tennis league to AI-amplified VR experiences. Through this collaboration with Tennis Australia, we are enabling truly innovative platforms for fans, players, coaches, and media.”
Dubbed ‘The Slam That Never Stops’, the league aims to engage younger audiences while ensuring safe digital interactions. The Infosys Match Centre will feature AI commentary, which will provide concise and engaging insights during matches. Fans at Melbourne Park can explore a VR AI Stadium, where they can design and play on virtual courts inspired by unique themes like galaxies, nature, or retro styles.
For players and coaches, advanced video analytics tools will offer detailed post-match reviews and strategic pre-game insights. Additionally, the AI Shot of the Day feature will enable AO’s media team to create and share captivating match highlights quickly on social media.
The Infosys Fan Zone continues to prioritise sustainability with fully recyclable structures and a carbon-neutral footprint.
