You thought 2023 was brutal? Think again. The number of techies laid off in January 2024 has surpassed last year’s count in the same month. While the firings continue unabated, there’s still hope as many companies are simultaneously looking to hire for the laid-off roles. 

A study by 365 DataScience revealed that 23.7% of the laid-off employees from Twitter were software engineers. The number increased to 28.8% for Amazon and 35.5% at Google – the highest among the big tech companies. Other tech roles to lose out were data scientists and analysts.

Boeing, Software Engineer (Mid-Level and Experienced) 

Boeing is seeking software engineers in Everett, WA, with over 5 years of experience in Java, C++, or Python software development. Additionally, 3+ years in embedded software development, verification, or certification is essential. Responsibilities will focus on avionics, cabin and network systems, common core systems, electronic subsystems, environmental controls, flight controls, or propulsion.
