Honeywell Collaborates with IISc to Support Deep Science Startups
Today, Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF), a not-for-profit philanthropic arm of Honeywell, announced their partnership with IISc’s Society of Innovation and Development (SID) to support deep-science startups. The initiative will enable startups to move up from incubation to early seed investments.
This partnership is the next step of the long running initiative of Honeywell’s Start Up Support Program, which has enabled healthcare startups like Azooka Labs, HealthSeq Precision Medicine, Protein Design, Equine Biotech, Siamaf Healthcare, etc. and close to 30 startups have been funded by Honeywell’s CSR arm. Most of these startups are led by women from underprivileged communities.
In 2019, Honeywell had partnered with IISc-SID, for supporting science and technology startups along with their Entrepreneurship-in-residence (EIR) program for supporting entrepreneurs that are offering solutions for addressing societal issues and challenges within the healthcare and environment domains.
This year, the partnership has successfully supported MagHeals Pvt Ltd, IndiaSpeaks Research Labs, Dfine Bio-innovations Pvt Ltd, Reti Ecotech, 14Si Silicon Solutions, Ikshana Medical, OpenMedLabs, NatureWrks Technologies, and HEM Dimensions.
Setup in 1991, IISc’s SID was founded to help business enterprises to benefit from IIS’s repository of knowledge and infrastructure. It has now developed three divisions – CORE, that engages with corporations for collaborative research, TIME works with mid-sized enterprises for disruptive growth and innovation, and STEM for incubating startups in deep science and societal impact driven fields.
