flection AI has secured USD 225 million in equity financing, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, as per media reports (reported first by TechCrunch). Inflection AI is co-founded by DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and former DeepMind principal research scientist Karén Simonyan. As per the same report, the source of the funding is not clear yet. 

The company was just launched in March this year. In a statement released to the public during its launch, Suleyman said that recent advances in artificial intelligence promise to fundamentally redefine human-machine interaction. He added, “We will soon have the ability to relay our thoughts and ideas to computers using the same natural, conversational language we use to communicate with people. Over time, these new language capabilities will revolutionise what it means to have a digital experience.”

Inception AI is not alone in this massive funding spree. Another young AI safety and research firm Anthropic raised USD 580 million in Series B just days ago. It was led by Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO at FTX. Other participants include Caroline Ellison, Jim McClave, Nishad Singh, Jaan Tallinn, and the Center for Emerging Risk Research (CERR). Anthropic was founded by siblings Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei in 2021.
