Meta to open its first physical retail store in California
Meta announced Meta Store, their first physical retail space, all set to be inaugurated on May 9 in Burlingame, California. At the Meta Store, customers will be able to get hands-on experience with all Meta’s hardware products.
At the store, using the interactive demos, the visitor can make video calls to retail associates with Meta Portal, learn how Ray-Ban Stories can help them stay present, or explore the magic of VR with an immersive Meta Quest 2 demo. Meta is also making it easier to shop Meta Portal, Ray-Ban Stories and Meta Quest online in the Shop tab on meta.com.
“At the Meta Store, we want you to interact with everything. We want you to pick stuff up. We want you to feel it.”
Meta Store will discover how Ray-Ban Stories help capture and share memories without taking one out of the moment. One can try on a range of styles, colours, and lens variations at the store to find the perfect fit. One can also check out Meta Portal in a special demo area.
Once inside the store, the visitor can make a video call to a retail associate to explore its capabilities fully, see Smart Camera and play with Story Time. The Meta Store also has an interactive Meta Quest 2 display wall, where one can explore the hardware, accessories, and breadth of content available today.
The store also has an immersive demo area, where the visitor can try – Beat Saber, GOLF+, Real VR Fishing or Supernatural on a large, wall-to-wall curved LED screen that displays what they see in-headset. One will also find a 30-second mixed reality clip of their demo experience that they can share.
“At roughly 1,550 square feet, the Meta Store has a relatively small footprint for an engaging experience. The Meta store is launched near Reality Labs HQ, where we are helping build the metaverse,” read Meta’s official announcement.
