Microsoft’s job listings are the highest in India after the US. Around 70% of total listings in India in 2021 were for software and web developers, programmers, and testers, besides architectural and engineering managers. With 3,700 job listings in India in 2021, it has surpassed that of China and Canada.

According to data and analytics company GlobalData, the company is hiring significantly for capacity, supply chain and provisioning (CSCP) and customer experience and success (CEnS) groups, besides streamlining plans to commission data centres. Around 30% of job adverts in 2021 listed in India were for the CSCP group to enable cloud manufacturing operations and fulfillment to supply hardware for data centres. For Microsoft, the CSCP group is a key area that supports its cloud businesses, including Xbox and Azure, where it has stepped up listings.

Other than that, the company listed multiple roles in India for the cloud operations and innovation team (CO+I) that builds and operates its data centres. It is also observed that almost 50% of Microsoft’s hires in India are in Hyderabad.

Microsoft started listing jobs for the CEnS group globally in March 2021. But come June 2021, hiring for such job adverts increased in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
