Recently, Deepinder Goyal, Founder of Zomato took to Twitter and announced its initiative of Zomato Feeding India. The initiative is stated to help source oxygen concentrators and related supplies to help hospitals and families in need.

Goyal tweeted, “Zomato Feeding India, our not-for-profit has kickstarted the “Help Save My India” endeavour today in association with @delhivery to source oxygen concentrators and related supplies to help hospitals and families in need.”

Zomato Feeding India is a non-profit initiative that has kickstarted the “Help Save My India” endeavour in association with Delhivery to source oxygen concentrators and related supplies. The online food delivery startup has already started the initiative and aims to raise ?50 Crores in the next few days. 

In a tweet, Goyal said, “We have already kickstarted the effort, and now need your help to raise ?50 crores for  @FeedingIndia in the next few days (hours?) to save hundreds of thousands of lives. If we raise more, we will get more oxygen.

He also shared a link for the international donors and asked startups and companies to join hands if they wish to help in such a crisis.

The food delivery startup has also filed for an initial public offering of up to Rs 8,250 crore ($1.11 billion), as consumers increasingly turn to order food online during the pandemic. 

In March, the rival food delivery company, Swiggy promised to cover the COVID-19 vaccination cost of over 2 lakh delivery partners. According to sources, announcing the vaccination program, Vivek Sunder, COO at Swiggy, said, “Over the past year, our delivery women and men have been a lifeline for the nation, delivering food and other essentials to millions of Indians during their time of need. As we continue to make all efforts to fight the pandemic, we’re prioritizing creating awareness across our fleet and extending our Covid cover to include access to vaccination for all delivery partners. We will also cover for the loss of pay when they take the time off to get vaccinated. This is another step in doing our bit for our partners who are supporting not just themselves and their families but also the society as essential service providers.”
