Bosch Sports Complex Turned Into COVID Care Centre In Bengaluru
With the surge of COVID cases in Bengaluru, Bosch recently announced that the company turned its sports complex into a COVID care centre. The COVID care centre includes 70 beds along with medical facilities and qualified staff referred by the civic body to treat the asymptomatic or have mild symptoms of the virus.
The German-based tech company entrusted the centre to the city civic body – Bruhat Bengaluru Mahangara Palike (BBMP) for admitting Covid patients and treating them.
According to sources, one of the officials from the leading auto component maker stated, “We have converted the indoor sports complex at our Adugodi campus in the city into a Covid care centre with 70 beds and other facilities to treat patients who are asymptomatic or having mild symptoms of the virus.” “As Covid cases have been surging in the city and hospitals are filling up with patients, our centre is an effort to help the Karnataka government to take care of those unable to get a bed in its or private hospitals,” the official added.
Soumitra Bhattacharya, the managing director at Bosch also stated that converting the sports complex into a Covid care centre reaffirmed the company’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of its employees and the public.
“We have also distributed about 40 lakh face masks to our frontline workers. The masks were produced at our Naganathapura plant (on the city’s southern outskirts),” Bhattacharya added.
Along with the 70 beds and qualified staff, the COVID centre also includes the availability of medical care, internet facility, meals, etc. It is now open to both the immediate family members of Bosch India employees and the general population.
