Top Data Centre Projects In India
With over a billion mobile phones and close to a billion internet subscribers, India has witnessed tremendous growth in the digital-ecosystem. According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, India’s data consumption demands for strong growth of data centres. As per the MeITY survey on the need for data centres, Indians consume up to 10 GB/month (2018), as opposed to 0.3GB/month in 2014, and it is expected to rise up to 21 exabytes per month by 2025.
Reports suggest that data centre markets can attract investments of the order of $4.9 billion in the next five years. Currently, the country has around 375 MW installed power capacity for data centres, and as per projections, this may grow to three times by 2025. So, who are the key players who are capitalising on this rise in demand?
In the next section, we take a look at the top projects that are poised to take advantage of the burgeoning field of data centres in India.
